if u buy apple ipad 2 in apple store is 499 total price or they add taxes?

becouse i sent someone to USA to buy me one and he say it is 546 dolars, he want to thief me or he is serious?

Also why not try doing the math yourself. for instance for the total to be $546 the tax rate must be roughly 9.5%
$499 + 9.5% = $546.41

On where you live. Each state has it’s own amount of tax for nj it is 7%
